LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday dismissed interim bail ap
plication filed by singer Bilal Saeed in a robbery case.
The single bench comprising Justice Abdul Sami Khan heard the ap
plication. During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel submitted that the Raiwind police had registered a Rs 60 million robbery case against the accused and others on the complaint of Rukhsana Bib
i. He contended that the accused did not have any link with the incident and
allegations levelled against him were baseless.
He further submitted that the accused and the complainant were
relatives and had an old enmity. He pleaded the court to grant interim bail.
However, complainant’s counsel apprised the court that the accused along his accomplices robbed
cash, jewellery and other articles from the house of Rukhsana Bib
i. He pointed out that the accused were also not cooperating with police in investigation.
